Growing student metropolis

Antwerp is not your average student city, but a buzzing metropolis with 500,000 inhabitants and as many as 170 different nationalities. Meanwhile 50,000 students are mingling into this mix effortlessly. No closed-off student bubble here, since in Antwerp, this is real-life studying.

In recent years the student population has increased considerably, together with the city. Since 2008 it has expanded by 38%, which makes us the fastest growing student city of Flanders. Antwerp students are everywhere and live and study amongst the Antwerp natives. That’s what makes Antwerp an atypical student city.
