TIRED OF CORONA? READ HERE WHY YOU NEED TO KEEP FIGHTING!

“The best social distancing activities” is probably one of the most popular Google searches from the past year, and yet we can’t help but admit that by now we’re all running out of inspiration. After almost a year (!) the virtual cocktail parties and forest hikes are losing part of their charm and coming up with original corona-proof activities is becoming harder by the day. Recognize this? Then you’re in the right place. Not because we have more fantastic activities in mind, but because we’d like to motivate you to go out anyway.

Being alone for a short time, not for life

Friends aren’t like family; you don’t get born with them. That means that you have to make your own buddies and that you also have to make sure to keep them close. So don’t lose them out of sight! In times of crisis you need each other more than ever. Try to stay in touch as much as possible, send your friends a message once in a while or go on the 100th walk with them. If you’re there for them, they’ll be there for you when you’re feeling under the weather. Social distancing is probably one of the biggest challenges your friendship will ever have to endure, so if you make it through this, you can survive anything. And before you know, you guys will be laughing about it at your favourite pub.

Vitamin D is good for you

“Stay inside” is the word, but that doesn’t mean you have to avoid the outdoors completely. To the contrary: fresh air and sunshine are incredibly important! Being outside makes you happier, it relieves stress, it helps you focus, it works wonders on your creativity and a big batch of vitamin D ensures that your immune system is right back where it needs to be. Need I say more? It’s definitely crucial to go outside once in a while, too. And don’t forget Antwerp is perhaps one of the most beautiful cities in the world. There are plenty of awesome spots to go on foot, by bike or with public transport.

Interested in trying out a new hobby? Then make sure to choose one that’s actually useful. Want to eat healthier? Then challenge yourself to try some new recipes. Always wanted to be a good photographer? Grab your camera and go discover Antwerp. Small successes can make you feel happy instantly, so you’ll feel better in your skin – even when you’re alone.
